He believed, and wanted his readers to believe, that every part of the Bible is essentially alive to-day and ever will be. With this end in view he has gathered on each page what is written by New Testament writers and all that bears upon the same theme fi'om the Old Testament, thus placing before the reader at a single glance both the Old and the New Testament literature. By this method the essential unity of the two parts of the one Book is not only confirmed but exhibited. This book is sure to prove a great help to those who rightly use it. It is more than an analysis of the Bible, although it includes much of that; it is more than a reference Bible, for the passages are at one glance before the reader's eye. Its use will do very much more, but if nothing more were done, it would be a great work to show how perfect and complete is the harmony between the different parts of the Bible, and thus exhibit one of the most satisfactory evidences of its divine inspiration. The numerous writer's scattered over many centuries, living under varying cir cumstances, in different countries, and with different national life. Yet have all clung unwaveringly to the same thought, ever return ing, regardless of distance or direction of thought, to the common center, the Lord Jesus Christ.
