Herrick was the daughter of the successful American novelist who wrote under the name Marion Harland and who later wrote books on household management, some co-authored by her daughter. Herrick herself wrote widely on cookery and housekeeping, contributing to Harper's Bazaar as well as producing numerous books. This title was first published in 1891.
