What Is Truth?

What does telling the truth mean? Everyone says you can't tell the truth all of the time or you will just hurt someone's feelings. This is wrong. The truth is merely a simple set of empirical facts and nothing more, and the facts can't hurt anyone. People get hurt by cruel words that come out of your mouth; but just because YOU happen to think something is true, it doesn't mean that thing IS actually the truth. What that thing is, happens to be what you are thinking at the time. It may be the truth about what YOU are thinking; but it is simply NOT the truth. It is just what you are thinking! It is only your opinion, even if it has a basis in fact. So no matter what ANYONE says, it is NEVER okay to lie.
