What Do We Do With Luke 6?

A number of people are seeking something of a higher order to bring order to their lives. Some seek the Christian religion as the prescription to effect the change in themselves and to the world that they desire: prayer in schools; the Bible as a book available to children in their classrooms. But Christianity is a radical religion. Perhaps not as it is practiced by some, but as it is known in the words and deeds of Jesus, who instituted the Christian Church. Example: the admonitions found in chapter six of aThe Gospel According to Luke.a There one finds the adage aturn the other cheek, a the Golden Rule, and admonitions to love our enemy, do good to those who hate us, and similar exhortations. If Christianity is adopted wholeheartedly, what about these requirements? Do we simply gloss over them? Do we attempt to live them out in our lives?
