This book is the memoir of a young physician who is assigned to a remote village in Iran. With limited resources available to him he manages to do his best. He faces many adventures during his tenure. Understanding the culture of the indigenous was the most challenging of all. He did most of his calls on horseback since the roads were impassable for cars. He was threatened by wild animals while attending his calls. In the end he was pleased that he did his best to serve a very deprived indigenous population....
