Trials will arise in our lives, that much is true. However, there are benefits of trials in life, as God uses trials and suffering to show genuine faith. This belief is firmly conveyed through the book of James, as James' letter to the churches discusses helping hurting people with similar journeys through suffering. Author Steven Swaim explores this topic of journey through suffering in his new devotional study, Walking Faith; Journey Through James. The book was first words of encouragement in emails Steven shared with others, which developed from emails into a book to offer insight on James and building godly character in trials. Steven uses James' words to instruct readers on treating all with respect and how words can influence life for others enduring suffering. As we strengthen godly character through the trials we face, we can help those around us, whether in the church or in the community.
