Trouble's Messenger

When Peter Messenger appeared at the trading post, he was a man of mystery. Although he may appear a tenderfoot, Messenger is more than a match when a Brave challenges him to a fight. But now the other Blackfeet are after him, and they almost succeed in a nocturnal ambush before they are interrupted by the arrival of the illustrious warrior War Lance and Summer Day, a medicine man and Blackfoot chief. Messenger has been trained since childhood in martial arts to prepare him to avenge the brutal murder of a white man named Adams, who was killed by Summer Day. He challenges the chief to combat, an encounter from which only one of them will emerge alive. Or at least, so it would seem. But that is not taking into account the wiles and supposed magic practiced by Summer Day.
