Tribal Education in Tripura

Researcher highlighted the historical perspectives of the tribal people of Tripura. He narrated the organizational and political situations during the reign of the Kings, Zaminders,British Administrators.The situation after the dawn of Independence of India was changed by the national government.The hopes and aspirations of the tribal people under the national government were not fulfilled by the administrators.This book narrated facets of different problems with relation to the way of life of the tribal people of Tripura, narrated how they had been exploited by the money lenders and the influx of refugees,the implementation of new technology in agriculture replacing their old methods,changing their old customs and heritage in the name of modernity, snatching away the rights of lands for constructing roads and industries for the sake of development and forcing them to forget the dialects imposing other dialects and alphabets substituting their own,and replacing the primitive heritage by new cultures of the outsiders.For harmonious development of personality and attainment of academic performances,a calm and quiet environment was pre-requisite.
