Two brothers, bound by their oaths to defend this country and serving in the armed forces, find themselves in a position neither of them wanted to be in. Navy Commander Steven David Sands, a decorated combat veteran who had left special operations to run intelligence operations in the post-9/11 world, has been shocked into the operations world again, and this time itas personal. An Army patrol on the Iran-Iraq border has been taken prisoner by Iranian forces, and the US government has disavowed any knowledge of their mission or their existence. David Sands learns that his brother, a team leader deployed to Iraq, leads the team that has been captured. When he learns that there will be no rescue, not even official recognition of the incident, Sands develops a plan that follows a tradition as old as warfare itselfa]leave no man behind.
