TECHNOLOGY ASSESSMENT OF RURAL HOSPITALS IN THEEASTERN CAPE PROVINCE

This work presents the research and development of an effective Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) framework that can be applied to support the implementation of e-health solutions in the rural hospitals of the Eastern Cape Province, in the Republic of South Africa. The objective of this work was to conduct a case study on the five rural hospitals in the Eastern Cape Province. The results were used to develop an ICT framework that can be applied to support the successful implementation of e-health solutions that will enhance the quality of services and reduce health care costs for rural communities.
