Tarucus Theophrastus

The Common Tiger Blue, Pointed Pierrot or African Pierrot (Tarucus theophrastus) is a small butterfly found in the Old World tropics. It belongs to the Lycaenids or Blues family. This is the type species of the genus Tarucus. Male upperside pale purple to violet with in certain lights a blue suffusion, the markings of the underside apparent through transparency.
