Even though he mistakes a skunk for a squirrel and gets too close to a porcupine for comfort, he is looked to as the leader of the other dogs at Red Fox Hill. Zadoc is the narrator of all the stories. There are five rescue dogs living with the Lady at Red Fox Hill: Zadoc, an Australian Terrier, Zhilo, a Golden Retriever, Zeeva and Tattoo both Silky Terriers, and Zoé, a Bichon. They enjoy fun and adventure together while learning important values and life lessons. A fierce predator can also be a protector, the smallest creatures can have the biggest hearts, and sticking together through difficult times can bring comfort and strengthen friendships.
