Descrizione Sustaining Nigeria
The book is concentrated on the period of 1990-1995 in Nigerian Politics which remains synonymous with abrupt military coups, an ¿abortive Third Republic¿ and the political exposal of securitizing discourse rendered to antagonists of Nigeriäs ¿khakistocracy¿-led rule, ¿¿[condemning] Nigerians to seeming perpetual purposelessness, not minding the lumpish submission to an even firmer neo-colonial grip¿1. Foremost, this work shall explore two disparate albeit interrelated theories with the first (1) structural-Marxist foci of ¿internal colonialism¿ derived from the Dependency Theory and the second (2) agency-orientated focus of the ¿extraversion¿ theory used to evaluate the genesis of Niger Delta-related crises. The study shall also highlight a ¿top-down¿ governmental framing of the crises to underpin the lowly referenced stratum of study centred on the strategic and coercive framing of ¿extra-oil¿ conflicts situated in the ¿Oil Rivers¿ of Nigeria.
