The Searching Guns

The buzzards, huge and ominous, circled effortlessly overhead as Sheriff Dan Guthry opened his eyes. His left arm felt lifeless, and his shirtsleeve was matted with blood as he lay where his prisoner, Sul Rich, had left him for dead. Dan had tracked the mad-dog killer through the burning hell of the New Mexico badlands, and now, the outlaw had a day's start on him. Savagery was a way of life for Sul. Three weeks earlier he had gunned down the parson and raped and murdered his daughter. Six more killings followed before Dan captured the heartless murderer. And now he was on the loose again.
