It categorizes the denial of freedom as simply a "deprivation of freedom" and with specific examples drawn especially from the author's immediate environment - Nigeria - it goes further to discuss "the role of freedom in relation to the causes of crises", under four broad headings, namely: Political Deprivation, Economic Deprivation, Cultural, and Religious factors. Finally, the work concludes with a submission that, "crises/wars are caused by either the denial or excessive exercise of freedom."
