A highly decorated Vietnam veteran and retired US Marine returns to Vietnam twenty-five years after the war. His chance meeting with a young Vietnamese karaoke girl in Saigon and the resultant love affair sends him on a collision course with the Le family. The events that follow challenge his Western values as he struggles to maintain his moral equilibrium.
