Republic Lost

Imagine a future where Plato's "Republic" becomes terrifying reality. Nuclear war has left the world in ruins. The coasts of the United States are flooded, and rainforest has extended as far as Colorado. Humans survive in the rubble of their former cities, in anarchist communes, or as feudal bandits. Only the Republic remains. Ruled by philosopher-kings and their super-computer, Kabiri-36, the Republic is a technological superpower, controlling knowledge, weather, matter, and humanity.
