I Promised Cochise is a haunting tale set in Tucson and Cochise County, Arizona, that will take you hack to the yesteryear of moccasin-worn paths crossing Texas Canyon and forward into the 21st century where the awesome beauty of Cochise's land awaits all who dare to venture into the past. Champion race car driver Kelly McMurray is one who does dare to venture into the past by accepting an invitation to visit Peggy Lowell at her historic Dragoon Ranch which was established in 1890. As so often happens Fate steps in and instead of the anticipated romantic weekend to be spent in the arms of enchanting Peggy he finds himself caught in a woven web of intrigue, lies and the legend of Cochise from which there is no escape! Indeed, the haunting legacy of the great chief's admonish­ments, ("You must speak straight so that words may go as sunlight into our hearts. Speak Americans. I will not lie to you, do not lie to me."), are as meaningful today as they were when spoken from the mountain tops and can still be heard if you only dare to hike the moccasin-worn paths of yesteryear.
