Prempeh College was originally meant to cater to the educational needs of the middle and northern sectors of Ghana. It is the first boys secondary school in Ashanti. Prempeh College is often categorized as a Grade A school with other secondary schools including Mfantsipim School, Wesley Girls\' High School and Presbyterian Boys\' Secondary School.
