An In situ conservation program, oriented to sustainable economic use for buffalös population, started at the begining of 2012 years. A buffalös herd of 113 heads composed of animals originated from two ex nucleus farms were included in the program. This species, based on the number of breeding animals is categorized at risk of extintion. Buffalo population is characterized by a considerable variation of its own phenotypic traits.
