Pauline Marois (French pronunciation: ​; born March 29, 1949) is the 30th and current Premier of Quebec and the current leader of the Parti Quebecois, representing the riding of Charlevoix-Cote-de-Beaupre. On September 4, 2012, Marois led her party to victory in the Quebec general election, thus becoming the first female premier-designate in the province\'s history. She is the sixth woman to serve as the premier of a Canadian province, and the oldest currently serving premier. After being sworn in on September 17 as an MNA, Marois was invited on September 19, by the Lieutenant Governor of Quebec, to become the premier of the province of Quebec.
