Descrizione THE ORGANIZATION, EVALUATION AND MODELING OFEXPERIMENTAL DATA

Enthalpy data are crucial for design and operation ofefficient chemical processes. Available experimentalenthalpy data accuracy may be questionable when takenfrom multiple sources, each perhaps with a uniquereference state and experimental background. Theaccuracy of the enthalpy data in the GPA database isevaluated with the application of equations of stateand statistical analysis.Electrolyte systems, particularly aqueous electrolytemixtures, are an important component of both naturaland industrial processes. A fundamentalunderstanding of electrolyte mixtures is crucial forinterpreting natural phenomenon and vital foreffective design and operation of chemical processseparations. Accurate thermodynamic models andbetter comprehension of the underlying chemistry andphysics are needed to improve the design ofseparation equipment. This work describes anextension and improvement of avapor-liquid equilibrium solution method for weakelectrolyte solutions focusing on carbon dioxide(CO2), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), sulfur dioxide(SO2) and ammonia (NH3). Additional considerationsinclude systems of strong electrolytes in solutionsof mixed weak and strong electrolytes.
