Operation ATLAS was the code name for a failed operation carried out by a special commando unit of the Nazi Waffen SS which was held in October 1944 and was aimed at poisoning the drinking water resources of the residents of Tel Aviv - specifically the water extraction facility of the Rosh HaAyin springs.
