Nutrigenomics is an emerging field of science and technology unrevealing inter-relationships between nutrients and human genome using modern tools like transcriptomics, metabolomics, epigenomics & proteomics. It implies that nutrition and genetics both play a significant role in maintenance of human health as well as development of lethal diseases. It is known that the interaction between the genotype and diet are important in determining periodontal disease risk.
