Corporate meeting market is unquestionably apotentially strong source of business especially forthe tourism and hospitality industry. The aim of thisstudy is to determine the factors that influence thenovelty preference for corporate meeting destinationchoice. Specifically, this studyfocuses on the (a) main effects of destinationconsumption factor, organizational structure andpersonality, and (b) the moderating effects ofperceived risk and budget.By understanding thenovelty-seeking behavior in the corporate meetingmarket, this lucrative industry could be furtherdeveloped and would not be centered only to the largemetropolitan areas.Consumption factor and personalitywere found to contribute significantly to theprediction of novelty preference for meetingdestination choice.Interestingly, the results alsorevealed the non-significant moderating effects ofperceived risk on all the hypothesized relationships.The significant effects of both consumption factorand personality, and the non-significant oforganizational structure suggested that the decisionon corporate meeting destination is dominated by thenon-organizational factors.
