Albert Camus in Le Peste (1947) describes how a plague of 1849 effects and kills not only people but changes societies, values, technologies, businesses. The global Corona pandemic of 2019f has not come to an end and a cure is not in sight. Countries set aside civil and basic human rights. The pandemic brought about triage, changes in employment, social contacts, and schooling. Families and friends cannot get together, visiting the sick, nor attending funeral. Is this pestilence a cultural, economic and political disease? What impact does the pandemic have on our global networks of commerce and communication? How do different countries respond to the challenge? What ethical questions do people face in this crisis?
