Meda is an important and endangered plant of Ashtawarga group. Substitution of plant as suggested by regulatory authorities is being exploited by manufacturers leads to reduced therapeutic efficacy of formulations. Old texts reflect number of important uses, till date limited scientific data is available on therapeutic potentials of the plant.
