After 15 years of siege the 2 million people of Gaza, living packed on a tiny strip find themselves without work, their economy killed off, without the bare essentials for decent life and without any hope of freedom. The siege is fracturing minds, pushing the most sensitive and vulnerable to suicide in numbers never seen before; such as the suicide of Mohanned Younis, a 22-year-old student in Gaza, being symbolic of the misery and despair of the siege. Also, 250 children having been hit with live bullets by the Israeli military since Gaza protests began, and over 1200 Palestinian children having been killed since 2008. Therefore it is imperative that the Gaza blockade is finally lifted; and that all parties concerned start working towards a just and fair Middle East peace plan. So in the current situation everything must be done to avoid violence between Israel and Palestine. And the solutions can only be found in a political process - meaning through dialogue, mediation and constructive Peacebuilding. It should also be noted, that business and commerce between all ethnic groups can only take place freely and unhindered in Israel-Palestine, if the checkpoints are finally lifted. A two-state solution - with the vast amount of Israeli settlements in Palestinian territories - would actually mean even more checkpoints. Hence in the spirit of freedom of movement - for both Palestinian and Israeli people - a one-state solution would be the better option, and that rule of law and judicial independence prevails in the land. Amid the social and political upheaval in the country, it's imperative that everybody keeps a cool head and remains calm and positive in this very challenging and critical time; so that legal equality and equal rights can be manifested for ALL in the land. It should also be noted, that the violence against women is a stain on Israel-Palestine that cannot continue. Both PM Yair Lapid and President Isaac Herzog addressed the scourge of violence against women - in particular the case of a former IDF soldier's allegations, that she was handed over by her commander to a terrorist who repeatedly raped and sexually abused her; adding that other female guards suffered the same fate. Hence is it imperative to implement the necessary measures to protect the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) in Israel-Palestine - so that women and girls can be protected from sexual violence, and perpetrators of sexual violence are brought to Justice.
