A Man from Donegal

A brilliant autobiography which James (Jimmy) started writing at eighty seven years of age. It follows his life from his early years in Donegal, Ireland, leaving his home at sixteen for work in Scotland. Time spent in the Antarctic as a whale catcher only a few years later, followed by hair-raising escapades during World War Two, as he tried to return home, leads the reader to wonder how he survived at all, let alone go on to live such a long and amazing chequered life.
