Looking Back-moving Forward

This is the autobiographical account of a young womanas journey, beginning in 1970 when she discovers that she is pregnant. The story is about the struggles she faces in coming to terms with the relinquishment of her son to adoption, her decision to search for him some twenty years after his birth, and their emotional reunion ten years later. The story is about loss created through adoption. It is also a story of personal strength, perseverance and hope. This book is an honest portrayal of the anguish suffered by many young women who lose their children to the closed adoption system. It deals with issues that have touched the author personally, as well as with issues that are common to the thousands of birthmothers who share her experience of loss.
