Laura Centonze is Lecturer in English Language and Translation at the University of Bari and IT-EN Translation Specialist at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. She holds a PhD in English and American Studies awarded by the University of Salento on a cotutelle agreement with the University of Vienna. As a Post-doc Research Grant Holder at the University of Bari in 2020 she focused on the analysis of gender representation in British and Italian TV advertisements. Her main research areas include corpus linguistics, pragmatics, English as a Lingua Franca (ELF), and intercultural communication. She has published articles on the pragmatics of ELF and the analysis of intercultural pragmatics by means of semi-automated annotation systems.
