There is one fear that lives in our subconscious from the day our children are born. Fortunately, for most parents, the fear that our children may die never materializes. But for those who are forced to live through that nightmare, the journey back to reality can be perilous. It doesnat matter how the child died. That child is gone forever and the surviving family members are left behind to grieve and to attempt to reconstruct their shattered lives. Some people are eventually able to come to some level of acceptance and others never heal. As the mother of a 16-year-old, whose tragic death in a motor vehicle crash destroyed her world, the author believes that some of her thoughts and experiences may help those who suffered a similar fate. If just one person finds comfort as a result of her pain, then maybe Jason didnat die in vain.
