In the 1800¿s Nashville grew to become a national center for music publishing. When the Fisk Jubilee Singers on an around-the-world tour played for the Queen of England, she exclaimed that they must come from the ¿Music City¿. In 1950, Nashville was dubbed Music City USA by WSM-AM radio announcer David Cobb and the name stuck.
