The development of novel injectable biomaterials to be used in non-invasive surgical procedures has attracted much attention in recent years. Their easy deliverability into the body is the critical advantage, since it allows their deployment to the implantation site using minimally invasive surgical techniques. These materials have to display a remarkable increase in their mechanical properties in vivo, for them to perform successfully at a diversity of predetermined body sites.
