The stories recorded here are the result of a long career as a building level public school administrator in the educational trenches, time devoted to sharing stories since retirement with fellow aBench Buddiesa on community benches, and drinking coffee and visiting with long-time friends. They include dry humor, tall-tales, and down-to-earth educational philosophy. The authoras interests are not terribly academic. The commonplace and daily aspects of life attract him most. Events and stories were recorded over a period of time and consolidated upon retirement. He has written the following from his perspective as a principal, husband, father, grandfather, community activist, and educator. It reflects his personal philosophy, opinions, sense of humor, and point of view. Most of what is recorded as fact really did happen but the names have been changed to protect the guilty. Occasional exaggerations can be expected as they make a good story even better.
