Human Physiology

The topical aspects of subjects critical to an understanding of general physiological mechanisms, including anatomy, chemistry, pathophysiology, and physics are presented in this text. Recent findings are included on cell membrane and cellular communication and the use of advanced knowledge of molecular physiology to explain the fundamental mechanisms of signal transmission and transduction; neurotransmission in the central nervous system and integrated motor activity; and the acid-base equilibrium as it relates to respiratory and urological system. Events in the cardiac cycle and cardiac output, the blood clotting mechanism and a sharper focus on immunological reaction, and other advances are also discussed.
