Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Horvath's Rock Lizard (Iberolacerta horvathi) is a species of lizard in the Lacertidae family. It was classified in the same genus as the morphologically similar sand lizard (Lacerta agilis) until recently. Its natural habitats are temperate forests, temperate shrubland, and rocky areas. Its range in central and southern Europe in mountainous areas of southern Austria, northeastern Italy, western Slovenia, and western Croatia is fragmented, believed to be a relict of a much larger range during the last ice age. Small, fragmented range is the main cause of concern for the survival of this species, which is why it's given the Near threatened status in the IUCN Red List and is also legally protected in the countries where it lives.
