The Germanic Peoples

The Germanic peoples are a historical ethno-linguisticgroup, originating in Northern Europe and identified by heir use of the Indo-European Germanic languages whichdiversified out of Common Germanic in the course of thePre-Roman Iron Age. The descendants of these peoplesbecamethe ethnic groups of North Western Europe: the Danes,Swedes, Norwegians, Faroese and Icelanders inScandinavia,the Germans, Dutch and Flemish on the continent, and theinhabitants of South-East Scotland, East England andSouth-East England in Great Britain.
