From Processes to Policies

Process-orientation is being applied to the management of IT services at a break-neck pace. The concepts and tools being deployed, however, have been recycled from the domain of business processes; they fail to leverage the automation potential inherent to the management of IT infrastructures. This book discusses methods suitable to integrate the process-oriented paradigm into management at a technical level. The approach presented aims to leverage existing infrastructure management tools, to ease inter-operation with process-management tools, and to support distributed, inter-organisational management processes.
