Using the biographies of former child soldiers, this work eloquently analyzes experiences of children that have looked death inthe face but still managed to remain commtted to the human instincts of survival. losing innocence between the ages of 8-15, former child soldiers studied in this work missed the simple virtues of their comminuties. But, reading about the spirit-reviving stories of how they adapted to life in the new societies (they all re-settled in America) is relative proof that if we choose to, we can handle our differences amicably
