As a consequence, this book is dealing with a two- way approach to anticipate capacity bottlenecks in European Road Freight Transportation. First, the visualization of the source & sink problem (flow analysis) and second the conception of a pre-warn system based on a set of indicators. The flow analysis result allows the indentification of those regions, where backloads from a carrier's point of view are especially difficult to acquire. Contrariwise the indicator system provides a broad range of transport related factors and their development.
