Everyday Hindi

This book is designed to help beginners in the study of the Hindi language build proficiency. Our goal for this book is for the readers to acquire linguistic and cultural competency in the target language. This book is mainly targeted at university and college students, but it can also be used effectively with high school students and adults who want to learn the language on their own, as the book is focused on everyday and general-purpose use of Hindi. The main teaching methodology in this book is the communicative approach, with equal emphasis on speaking, listening, reading, writing, and cultural aspects of the language, but special emphasis is given to speaking skills, for which conversation practice exercises are given in each unit. (There will be a focus on the pedagogical use of contrastive analysis for the acquisition of grammatical and conversational competence.)
