This major new book provides a systematic overview and assessment of all aspects of Britain's relations with the EU of the extent to which British politics has been Europeanized since joining. The author argues that despite its widespread characterization as an awkward partner, Britain is not alone among EU members in being out of step on occasions--though these have been more frequent than for other major member states--and has a very good record of compliance with EU policies once adopted.
