Europas Spiegel: Die Antikensammlung Im Suermondt-Ludwig-Museum Aachen

The collection of antiquities in the Suermondt-Ludwig Museum Aachen has hitherto been nearly unknown even among specialists. It mainly contains of vases and terracotta figurines, along with sculpture, metal, plaster and glassware representing a wide geographical and chronological range. Material from the Cypriote, Greek, Etruscan, Roman, Punic, South Russian areas, as well as the Iberian Culture date from the Bronze Age to Late Antiquity. The collection consists of around 400 pieces, one-fourth of which went missing during World War II. The catalogue has been compiled by students and staff of the Institute of Archaeology at the University of Cologne. German text.
