The EU - A Global Player?

Bachelor Thesis from the year 2010 in the subject Politics - International Politics - Topic: European Union, grade: 8, Maastricht University, language: English, abstract: The European Union is a unique entity in our world. This paper looks at the historical development of the EU and its economic power versus its power as an actor in the realms of international relations. To demonstrate the latter case, the Iraq war is used as a case study to demonstrate the difficulties the EU has to act as one player in international relations and still very much relies on national opinions.
