The End Of Education Is Character

This book is inspired by the teachings of our spiritual guru, Sri Sathya Sai Baba of Puttaparthi, India. There are a lot of intellectual debates in the modern times about the crimes committed by educated people. On many occasions it was felt that there is a wholesome character education as a necessity for the society at large. Can this be possible considering the emphasis of secular education which is producing graduates for the industry but who are not providing inspirational leadership in the real world problems! The character principles ie Truth, Right Conduct, Love, Peace and Non-violence are known from time immemorial and examples of several spiritual and religious texts have these as examples. However how can these be incorporated in the modern education practices is something that is open for discussion. This book makes an attempt to highlight on the need for Education of Human values (EHV) in the modern education systems. There are some examples of institutes and schools in India and abroad that follow the curriculum for EHV. Essentially all religions lead to the same goal, ie God. Therefore this book makes an attempt to answer the importance of character education.
