Many books have been written which study the actions of the French or British armies during the Napoleonic period but this book provides a documented reference of the military operations across the entire Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, covering not only the activities of the French but the military decisions, operations and objectives of the Allies. Furthermore, rather than providing a commentary on one theater of operations followed by a commentary on a different theatre it presents the wars as they were fought, simultaneously and across a wide geographical area. By doing this we can truly appreciate the scale of the Napoleonic conflict and it longevity.
