He is Chairman of Local Partnerships LLP and a member of the Executive and Improvement Board of the Local Government Association. He has been an elected member of the City of London Court of Common Council since February 2001, most recently re-elected in March 2009. He is now chairman of the City\'s Licensing Committee and member of the Policy and Resources Committee. In February 2011 he was appointed chairman of Capital Ambition. He was awarded an OBE for public service in June 2011.
