The Dupree Legacy

Captain Henri DuprA(c)e, a Frenchman of high birth, is an innocent, who as a teenager is inducted by family into a life of deceit and betrayal, and now finds he is evacuating Dunkirk only to be recruited into MI-6 the British spy network. On a mission disguised as a German officer, Captain Henri DuprA(c)e is wounded and sent to a Berlin Hospital where he narrowly escapes the Gestapo, which is hot on his heels. He has a steamy affair with an Italian Contessa on board the Paris-bound train. MI-6 sends an American radio technician, Maggie Whitby, to aid Captain Henri DuprA(c)e in his French Resistance work. Maggie is the first person in his life of infinite duplicity whom he trusts; then marries. She becomes the instrument of his resurrection of life and limb. But will more family betrayal be their undoing?
