The Dream

The Dream is a story about the connected lives of Black people in the Southern town of Bogalusa, Louisiana. Set during and immediately following the Prohibition era, it depicts the ugly truth of prejudice, discrimination, and pure hatred and shows how a people can survive in spite of it all. Crafted by Sears, with personal experience as her main inspiration, The Dream illustrates the strength of motherly love and the power of community.
